"Freedom Within Connections" Codependency Group Therapy is designed to foster healing and growth in individuals who struggle with codependent behaviors and relationships. Here are the core focuses of our group therapy sessions:
-
Understanding Codependency: Educating participants about the dynamics of codependency, including enabling behaviors, lack of boundaries, and self-sacrificing tendencies. This knowledge helps participants recognize unhealthy patterns and begin the journey towards healthier relationships.
-
Identifying Personal Patterns: Helping participants identify their own codependent behaviors and patterns of relating to others. Through self-reflection and group discussions, individuals gain insight into how these patterns developed and how they can change.
-
Building Self-Awareness: Encouraging participants to explore their emotions, needs, and motivations behind their codependent behaviors. Developing self-awareness is crucial for understanding one's role in relationships and making empowered choices.
-
Setting Boundaries: Teaching effective boundary-setting techniques to empower participants to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in all areas of life. This skill is essential for reducing codependent tendencies and fostering healthier relationships.
-
Developing Assertiveness: Practicing assertiveness skills to communicate needs, desires, and boundaries effectively. This empowers participants to express themselves authentically and advocate for their own well-being in relationships.
-
Exploring Self-Care: Encouraging self-care practices that promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Emphasizing the importance of self-nurturance helps participants prioritize their own needs and cultivate a balanced lifestyle.
-
Support and Empowerment: Providing a supportive community where participants can share their struggles, successes, and insights without judgment. Group members offer validation, encouragement, and practical support as individuals navigate their journey towards greater autonomy and fulfillment.
